Scott Sampson @ UF

The Alligator asked me to photograph Scott Sampson last night at the Florida Museum of Natural History. He gave a very interesting talk on Dinos and his VERY popular PBS children's show. Take a look! The editors pic would not have been mine, but I guess that is why they have editors.

Bernie Machen

Yesterday I was asked to attend the Board of trustees meeting's at the University of Florida. Bernie Machen was there along with a lot of my Dad's old friends and co-workers. It was great to meet and talk with people who know how amazing and talented my dad is. I am very proud to be Joe Hice's daughter, and ALWAYS will be :)
Some of you might know that Bernie broke his ankle, and is now sporting a orange and blue cast! It was fun to be able to take a less conventional "meeting" photo for the paper. Who needs and suite and tie when you can wear a ORANGE and BLUE jump suite.
Take and look!
Thanks!LHM!

Working Hard

Yet Again

Well all I can say is I am glad Tuesday has come and gone, but at least I got published out of it! Yesterday I spent my day at work, taking two exams... one was good.. the second... not so good. Anyways while studying I got a text from the Alligator to cover the Mayor of Gainesville speaking on Campus. Seeing as I am looking to make something of my self in the world of photojournalism I said YES. So I discontinued my studying and headed over to the Business school and shot photos up until my exam... and yes I made it to my class on time, but did not fair so well on the exam. Bummer.
But on a good note I am in the paper again this week.
Take A Look
Thanks,
LHM
Second time in the Alligator

So my hard work has paid off once again. This weekend I should have been working on a photo project in Jacksonville, but that got canceled due to weather. I figured that I would make the most of this and attend something local. I knew there was a Brest Cancer fundraiser, Water Balloon fight on campus, so I went. When I got there I was approached by the photo editor of the Independent Alligator, and guess what... she asked me to cover the event! I said YES.
Now they have offered me a JOB as a stringer for the paper, this will be my first official newspaper photographer job. I am very excited, and determined to work hard to reach my goal of becoming a full time photojournalist. Things are looking up :) here is the link to the papers website my photo is on this home page :)
